Queer Hikes: Turner Reservoir

Adventure Tadhg is going to be honest here: as a kid driving from Connecticut, over the Thames and thru Rhode Island to Nana’s house in Swansea–he didn’t think much of Seekonk outside of its strip malls and extensive shopping scene on Route 6.  It wasn’t until he moved to Swansea himself that he began to discover and really appreciate the beauty of the Southcoast–Seekonk included!  Turner Reservoir was always a fan-favorite of the first OutHound, Moses and OHAC is excited to join our Queer Hikes friends at a beautiful reserve right in our own backyard!  Parking will actually be at a lot in Rumford, RI–and OHAC wouldn’t begrudge anyone who wants to seek out Seven Stars bakery pre or post hike!

Terrain: Some boardwalks, grassy paths, wooded terrain, as well as a short walk roadside. 

You need: Proper footwear.  Water and a snack. 

Your Dog needs: Properly fitting harness, water, poop bags, and snacks. 

Parking: Two small Dirt Lots, plus parking across the street at Hunts Mill.
