To promote the physical and mental wellness of dogs and their people. We are stewards of the environment, models of responsible dog-parenting, and building a strong and compassionate community thru human and dog cooperative adventure learning!
Although based in Southcoast Massachusetts, we look to serve not only Bristol County MA and RI, but all of New England and beyond with both private training, group classes, learning hikes, and synchronous online, virtual training opportunities.
It began with the Adventure Club (or OHAC), which was designed in the spirit of other Adventure Learning programs. But instead of kids on rope swings, it would be dogs and their people embracing their fundamental roots: two partners working together to solve problems, push their boundaries and embrace ADVENTURE. Through curated outings, we look to create a community of people and canine companions who help each other on a journey, completing tasks and overcoming obstacles along the way. We will assist and encourage one another to try new things and take acceptable risks. Remember…
Life is an Adventure; Join the Club!
We will respect our dogs (and our own) boundaries
We will build independence through fostering agency, self-reliance, and problem solving
We will be sincere in all that we do.
We will approach all of our training, coaching, and guidance with a foundation of kindness.
Often our dogs require more than training a skill, but rather need a behavior modified. We can work with you to help your dog FEEL better so that they can make SAFER choices.
Our trainers have extensive experience working with various forms of aggressive behaviors.
We can work with you to learn the skills necessary to pass the Canine Good Citizens Test.
Work with OH to help you with barking, jumping, biting, guarding, and more!
We believe deeply in choosing methods that will not instill fear and mistrust.
Our training methods are rooted in sound scientific methodologies.
Your dog is part of your family; therefore all of your family should feel encouraged to join the learning adventure!
We can get you started on your long term goals, everything from polite family pet to therapy dog and Emotional Support Animal training.
OutHounds has been a passion project for Tadhg for a long time. An avid runner, biker, hiker as well as an accomplished dog trainer with a combined twenty years in human and canine education, Tadhg is beyond excited to bring this venture forward. He hopes to use his education (BFA in Sculpture, MA in Education, CPDT-KA certified dog trainer), experiences, and passion for learning, people, and the environment to help people and pets alike. He is incredibly grateful for the support of his friends and family who have fostered his love of Adventure!
Adventure Club had been a brain child of Tadgh's for a few years, but sometimes it takes your best friend egging you on about "What's next?" for his dog that really starts the fire that is OutHounds. Eric has been here from the inception, bringing all of the skills he had and would come to learn along the way! But what can't be quantified is his enthusiasm, kindness, and true Adventure Spirit. We wouldn't be here without Eric.
Lauren's credentials are endless. With a Bachelor's in Zoology, ten years of running a booming dog training business in Harmonious Hounds under her belt, CPDT-KA training certification, and an enthusiastic embracing of our vision, we are beyond thrilled to have her part of the team!

Never one to get her hair wet, this prima donna has become the face of OutHounds Adventures. She is spectacular training assistant (or often times Lead Trainer!) and will help keep those around her in line. All while mugging for treats!
Often mistaken for a wild boar on the trails, Charlie's enthusiasm for Adventure is unparalleled. He is always ready and eager to lead the way!
If you ask politely, or even better, if you start to howl yourself, Pod will join you in a beautiful song to the spirit of Adventure! This once shy rescue with tragic beginnings is the poster boy for just what Adventure Club can accomplish! But don't take our word for it; come by and ask him!
Adventure Creme prefers most of his adventures to be had from the couch, but he isn't one to shy away from a jaunt with his closest buddies now and again! Snuggles, though? All day, everyday.
Moses was OutHounds Adventure & Training Academy’s greatest inspiration. Was he a reactive German Shepherd Dog? Sure was! Could he be intimidating? To some! A little misunderstood…aren’t we all? But Moses defined Adventure, and particularly Adventure Club. He loved his friends and his family. He loved his walks with the Adventure Pack, before we even knew that’s what we were doing! He loved to scent and hike and find Adventure everywhere. Ask Adventure Pod, who learned the most valuable lesson: there is JOY and ADVENTURE in just crossing the street!
“I cannot overstate the effectiveness of Tim’s teaching methods... His group classes are very helpful, and his individual classes are extremely effective. Tim has a genuine love and understanding of the puppies and adult dogs that he teaches. I am looking forward to all that me and Ruby will continue to learn through his services. I highly recommend ”
