This Session:
Fort Barton (Tiverton, RI)
As we all know, Adventure Tadhg grew up in the lovely Southeastern Connecticut town of Ledyard–named after the Revolutionary War hero, Colonel Ledyard. As a kid, Tadhg’s family would visit Groton’s Fort Griswold, the site of Ledyard’s fateful stand against a Benedict Arnold led raid on New London and Groton. He has many fond memories of running around the grounds of the fort, fighting off the “redcoats”.
After moving to Massachusetts, he was very excited to explore Tiverton’s own Revolutionary Era fort, Fort Barton. He thinks the Adventure Club will really enjoy the dramatic landscape that makes up this little gem! There are plenty of opportunities to seek adventure–not to mention, catching beautiful views of Mount Hope Bay and Aquidneck Island!
