Our Classes
OutHounds Adventure & Training Academy looks to create a fun and exciting class experience for both you and your dog! Our Premier Adventure Program will allow you and your dog to work on goals, make friends, and earn Merit Badges along the way!
Our classes are typically held at the Paws N Play Daycare on Reed Road in Dartmouth. However, we will hold many of our lessons outdoors in Nature’s classroom, as well.
To participate, you’ll need to register online and submit a completed veterinary release form!
Dog Training Group Class Calendar
Adventure Tenderfoot- Puppy Training
Start your Adventure Puppy off on the right paw and join Adventure Lauren for our Adventure Puppy Training. This class is intended for puppies 10 to 20 weeks–although we will assess your puppy’s needs individually!
This course’s focus is ALL THINGS PUPPY! House training troubleshooting, foundational skills, good puppy management practice, and a very strong focus on PROPER SOCIALIZATION techniques. They are not puppies for long, so take advantage of this opportunity to set the stage right!

Adventure Learning Open Course - Basic manners thru Advanced
Our signature, rolling enrollment leveled Adventure Manners courses are a great way to help you not only learn the foundational skills necessary for whatever Adventures life has to offer, but to also always continue to grow and learn and achieve new goals. Each class session stands on its own, so they can be taken in any order!
You can either sign up for 1 session at a time or buy bundles of 4 or 6 at a time. Continue to come and learn new skills, take on new challenges, and your dog AND you will earn Merit Badges for your accomplishments along the way! As you advance through the courses and learn new skills, the open leveled classes will give you an opportunity to continue to learn with our trainers (and your peers!)

Leash Skills - Basic Level
Fundamental leash skills is an important skill for any Adventure you and your dog to learn–even if that adventure is a walk in your neighborhood! Come learn how to walk on a loose leash in this Beginner Level course.
This is a standard enrollment course (with set start and end dates) meeting weekly for 4 weeks!

Adventure Recall - Basic to Advanced Levels
Coming when called is an essential skill necessary for any Adventurer. OutHounds Adventure & Training Academy can help you hone your dog’s skills in order to have a Reliable Recall in any situation!
These are standard enrollment courses (with set start and end dates) meeting weekly for 4 weeks!

AKC CGC - Intermediate Level
OutHounds Adventure & Training Academy can help you and your dog not only reach your goals of achieving the AKC CGC title, but we can also test you! This is often the first step for many therapy dogs.

Joring 101 - Intermediate to Advanced levels
Mushing, Carting, Bikejoring, OH MY! This will be a foundations course that builds skills necessary for various pulling activities. Join us in “harnessing” that desire and putting it to good use.

Adventure Agility - Intermediate to Advanced levels
You’ve never taken an agility course quite like this. We are inspired by the real world agility that Mother Nature (or NEMBA!) creates for us and build on skills such as balance, weaving, and climbing!

Join us in learning the basic foundations of scent discrimination and the various application of this fun and useful skill!

Merit Badges
As you work your way through the levels of our Adventure Learning program and take the various topics classes, you and your dog will be earning Merit Badges! You can take pride in your accomplishments and work together as a team to achieve your goals, take R.I.S.K.s, and try something new!
Adventure Classes Guide
Adventure Puppy
We are never too young to learn, and the foundations for a confident OutHound begins in puppyhood! Starting at 10 weeks old, your puppy is ready to begin their adventure!
Basic Adventure Level
Our Basic Adventure Manners classes build on the the foundational skills of marker training, sit, stay, come, leash skills, and handling. Basic tenents for successful hikes, walks, and all that life has to offer!
Intermediate Adventure Level
Intermediate skilled classes, require the prerequisite of Basic Level understanding of positive reinforcement and marker training skill set. You will continue to grow as we challenge you and your dog to push yourselves outside of your comfort zone.
Advanced Adventure Level
Our Advanced Adventurers will have the opportunity to truly push themselves to achieve amazing accomplishments with their dogs!

Before joining us for Group Training Classes or Private Training, you need to complete a FREE Zoom “Dog Learning 101”: Training Orientation.
