SUMMARY:Buzzards Bay Coalition Standard Adventure: The Bogs
DESCRIPTION:This session: \nThe Bogs\n\nThe Bogs has been a long time favorite destination for the Adventure Club\, and it is even more exciting now that OHAC is collaborating with the Buzzards Bay Coalition! The predominantly flat and open trails are great for the beginning hiker\, yet the beauty can be appreciated by all! Adventure Guide Tim does like to lead the group into the forest trail\, which does boast a mild incline and some tricky footing\, depending on the flood stage of the subsequent swamp. Although\, even if we have to double back or risk the dryness of our socks\, we always have a great time out here. (Check out our pictures from the spring!) This a great trail for just getting yourself (and your dog!) OUT and reconnecting with nature. Expect about 3-4 miles of hiking on our standard adventure! \n  \n*While our Standard Adventures are always free\, we encourage you to donate here: https://www.savebuzzardsbay.org/take-action/donate… \n**Adventures are typically held rain or shine. SUMMARY:Standard Adventure - Cornell Farm
DESCRIPTION:This Session: Cornell Farm\nRepeat Adventurers will be familiar with part of this trail\, as DNRT’s Little River Reserve was our inaugural adventure! This time\, however\, we will be beginning our adventure on the other end of the reserve on Trustee’s of the Reservations Cornell Farm. The Farm portion is a predominantly flat trail which can become VERY muddy in the beginning in rain or thaw. We will meander our way thru to the beautiful board walks that allow visitors to pass thru salt marsh. There are moments of uneven footing and sleight inclines. DESCRIPTION:This session: \nHistoric New Bedford \nWhile OutHounds Adventure & Training Academy’s Adventure Club typically traverses our more remote and wooded areas\, we do like to gather in more populous locales once in a while and have an “Urban Adventure!” We couldn’t think of a better time\, then to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King. Come join Adventure Club on this Urban Adventure Hike to commemorate his legacy by walking New Bedford’s Black History Trail. Starting at Pier 3 on the New Bedford waterfront\, we will follow the Trail as meticulously curated by the New Bedford Historical Society. Our path will lead us to Buttonwood Park and back again! \nAt each location\, we will read and learn a little bit about the rich history along the way. SUMMARY:DNRT Adventure - Ridge Hill Reserve - Standard Adventure
DESCRIPTION:This session: \nRidge Hill\n\nRidge Hill will live in OHAC lore for all time as our second ever hike brought quite the adventure! One of the neighborhood cattle made one of their all to frequent trips out of his paddock and down to the Ridge Hill parking lot just as we were shoving off! As we said then\, sometimes you seek adventure and sometimes adventure finds you! \nRidge Hill also happens to be one of Adventure Tadhg’s favorite DNRT trails\, but don’t advertise that too much or else everyone will start going there! Let’s save this gem for the Adventure Club! Path’s here are well cared for by volunteers and offer a little challenge for everyone. There are some steeper inclines and some rocks and roots that make for some tricky footing (especially closer to the reservoir). Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure!  \n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Some rocky\, hilly terrain. Being an outsider\, he was unaware of Freetown Forest’s mystical legends\, and even now\, Adventure Club has come up short in our endless pursuit of the elusive Pukwudgie! \n\nFighting Rock Corner has often been one of his primary launching points for his own adventures–and he is excited to share it with OHAC! Let us take you on an exciting Adventure! \n\n“Two roads diverged in a wood\, and I—\nI took the one less traveled by\,\nAnd that has made all the difference.”\n\n\nExpect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure!\n\n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Begins with long consistent incline.  Path can be flooded in parts.
