Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure! DESCRIPTION:This session: Moraine Trail \nThe Moraine Trail is a 9 mile (one way!) trek that showcases Cape Cod’s ancient glacial history.  Buzzard’s Bay Coalition has a wonderful write up and breaks the trail down into 3 parts: the Southern Goodwill Park/Falmouth Town Forest\, the Central Collins Woods Lot and the Northern Anna Gordon/ Wildlife Corridor.  OHAC will be picking up this dramatic trail in the central section and head North Bound.  We will be darting in and out of busy industrial areas before retreating back into the glacial wooded paths!  Thank the glacial melt for the beautiful kettle holes and landscape! \nDo to travel\, this will be an EXTENDED ADVENTURE–out and back. \nYou need: Proper footwear.  Rocky terrain. Water and a snack. \nYour Dog needs: Properly fitting harness\, water and snacks.

SUMMARY:Standard Adventure: Swansea Village Park
DESCRIPTION:This session:\nSwansea Village Park \nSVP is an Adventure Club favorite as it provides both natural and man made obstacles for both our OutHounds and OutHumans. The Park is frequented by mountain bikers and NEMBA members have built various equipment that gives our four-legged adventure partners opportunities to practice typical Canine Agility skills such as seesaws\, narrow bridges and climbing walls! Mother Nature hasn’t done a bad job either with all of the pudding stone and large outcroppings that gives the adventurous and sure-footed a view of the treetops. As always\, not every obstacle is for everyone and no one is forced to make choices they aren’t comfortable with! However\, even if you aren’t making the minor climbs\, the ground can be slick and root covered. Who knew that all of this was behind the Swansea Library! Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure! DESCRIPTION:This session:\nSwansea Village Park \nSVP is an Adventure Club favorite as it provides both natural and man made obstacles for both our OutHounds and OutHumans. The Park is frequented by mountain bikers and NEMBA members have built various equipment that gives our four-legged adventure partners opportunities to practice typical Canine Agility skills such as seesaws\, narrow bridges and climbing walls! Mother Nature hasn’t done a bad job either with all of the pudding stone and large outcroppings that gives the adventurous and sure-footed a view of the treetops. As always\, not every obstacle is for everyone and no one is forced to make choices they aren’t comfortable with! However\, even if you aren’t making the minor climbs\, the ground can be slick and root covered. Who knew that all of this was behind the Swansea Library! Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure! DESCRIPTION:Directions are tricky for this! If you are coming off of 195\, head NORTH on North Street at the Mattapoisett Exit 19B. The small wooded lot will be on the RIGHT at ABOUT the drop pin location. There is a sign. \nThis session:\nHaskell Swamp Wildlife Management Area \nAs you can tell from the directions\, this is a lesser known patch of swampy awesomeness! However\, per Tinkle’s M.O.\, he spotted a sign in his travels\, and wondered…”What is THIS all about??” There are some nice logging roads\, and certainly some adventurous trekking\, especially if you are looking to avoid getting TOO wet out there. Be sure to bring thick socks\, waterproof boots\, BLAZE ORANGE (this is a Wildlife Management Area after all) and your Exploring Spirit! Let’s go make some trails! \nStandard Adventure to be immediately followed by a Lite Adventure.
