DESCRIPTION:This session: \nRidge Hill\n\nRidge Hill will live in OHAC lore for all time as our second ever hike brought quite the adventure! One of the neighborhood cattle made one of their all to frequent trips out of his paddock and down to the Ridge Hill parking lot just as we were shoving off! As we said then\, sometimes you seek adventure and sometimes adventure finds you! \nRidge Hill also happens to be one of Adventure Tadhg’s favorite DNRT trails\, but don’t advertise that too much or else everyone will start going there! Let’s save this gem for the Adventure Club! Path’s here are well cared for by volunteers and offer a little challenge for everyone. There are some steeper inclines and some rocks and roots that make for some tricky footing (especially closer to the reservoir). Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure!  \n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Some rocky\, hilly terrain. Being an outsider\, he was unaware of Freetown Forest’s mystical legends\, and even now\, Adventure Club has come up short in our endless pursuit of the elusive Pukwudgie! \n\nFighting Rock Corner has often been one of his primary launching points for his own adventures–and he is excited to share it with OHAC! Let us take you on an exciting Adventure! \n\n“Two roads diverged in a wood\, and I—\nI took the one less traveled by\,\nAnd that has made all the difference.”\n\n\nExpect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure!\n\n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Begins with long consistent incline.  Path can be flooded in parts. DESCRIPTION:This session: \nThe Bogs\n\nThe Bogs has been a long time favorite destination for the Adventure Club\, and it is even more exciting now that OHAC is collaborating with the Buzzards Bay Coalition! The predominantly flat and open trails are great for the beginning hiker\, yet the beauty can be appreciated by all! Adventure Guide Tim does like to lead the group into the forest trail\, which does boast a mild incline and some tricky footing\, depending on the flood stage of the subsequent swamp. Although\, even if we have to double back or risk the dryness of our socks\, we always have a great time out here. (Check out our pictures from the spring!) This a great trail for just getting yourself (and your dog!) OUT and reconnecting with nature. SUMMARY:Standard Adventure: Swansea Village Park
DESCRIPTION:This session: \nSwansea Village Park\n\nSVP is an Adventure Club favorite as it provides both natural and man made obstacles for both our 4-legged and 2-legged OutHounds. The Park is frequented by mountain bikers and NEMBA members have built various equipment that gives our four-legged adventure partners opportunities to practice typical Canine Agility skills such as seesaws\, narrow bridges and climbing walls! Mother Nature hasn’t done a bad job either with all of the pudding stone and large outcroppings that gives the adventurous and sure-footed a view of the treetops. As always\, not every obstacle is for everyone and no one is forced to make choices they aren’t comfortable with! However\, even if you aren’t making the minor climbs\, the ground can be slick and root covered. Who knew that all of this was behind the Swansea Library! Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure!\n\n\n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Can be quite rocky and rooted. There opportunities for real Adventuring and Bouldering. We typically enjoy trekking the Pine Barrens trail\, however\, the Bentley Loop and all of its subsidiaries is quickly becoming a favorite as well. This trail boasts varied terrain\, some nice inclines\, and the ability to make the journey anywhere from 3 to 6+ miles! You certainly feel "away from it all" OUT there! We will meet at the Upper College Pond Parking Lot. Blaze orange for both you and your dog is highly encouraged. \n\n**Adventures are typically held rain or shine. Please check Facebook\, Instagram and emails for severe weather cancellations.**\n  \nTerrain: Sandy footing with some steep inclines. State Parks classify this as “difficult”.\n\nYou need: Proper footwear. Brightly colored clothing. Water and a snack. Please join us for this inaugural Adventure. For OutHounds Adventure Club regulars\, you know we frequent Swansea Village Park.  Part of the attraction is the epic rock outcroppings and boulders.  Lincoln Woods is like Swansea Village Park’s older brother!  Bigger\, more wild and many more boulders!  There is a pleasant paved loop around a lake\, but in true Adventure Club fashion\, we seek out the trails frequented by mountain bikers and others with a more daring spirit!  While we typically expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our Standard Adventure\, don’t be too disappointed if it’s closer to three! DESCRIPTION:Our signature\, rolling enrollment leveled Adventure Manners courses are a great way to help you not only learn the foundational skills necessary for whatever adventures life has to offer\, but to also always continue to grow and learn and achieve new goals. Each class session stands on its own\, so they can be taken in any order! \nYou can either sign up for 1 session at a time or buy bundles of 4 or 6 at a time. Continue to come and learn new skills\, take on new challenges\, and your dog AND you will earn Merit Badges for your accomplishments along the way! This class is intended for puppies 10 to 20 weeks–although we will assess your puppy’s needs individually! \nThis course’s focus is ALL THINGS PUPPY! House training troubleshooting\, foundational skills\, good puppy management practice\, and a very strong focus on PROPER SOCIALIZATION techniques.
