SUMMARY:Standard Adventure: New Boston Road Trail
DESCRIPTION:This session:\nNew Boston Road\n\nNew Boston Road Trail has been a long time favorite destination for the Adventure Club—especially being our THIRD ever adventure!  (Remember the flooded trails with brave adventurers balancing precariously on slippery wooden boards?  Yeah\, that one!) NBRT is a really great launching point into the network of trails that all include Tripps Mill and The Bogs. Trails are predominantly flat and seasonally can become quite flooded and footing can be tricky. However\, the swamp does take care of business pretty quickly\, and our friends over at the Buzzards Bay Coalition are working at helping people navigate thru with some boardwalk construction. Although\, even if we have to double back or risk the dryness of our socks\, we always have a great time out here. (Again\, check out our pictures from the Spring 2018!) This a great trail for just getting yourself (and your dog!) OUT and reconnecting with nature. Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure! \n**Adventures are typically held rain or shine. Please check Facebook\, Instagram and emails for severe weather cancellations.** \nTerrain: Mostly flat\, Can become easily flooded.  Does allow hunting in season. \nYou need: Proper footwear.  Bright colors recommended.  Water and a snack. Signed Release Form. \nYour Dog needs: Properly fitting harness\, water and snacks. \nParking: Small dirt lot. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Standard Adventure: Destruction Brook
DESCRIPTION:This session: \nDestruction Brook \nDestruction Brook is certainly a popular and highly trafficked DNRT gem with rocky and root covered paths and a few steep (yet quick) inclines. Lite Adventurers should expect about 2-3 miles. \nStandard Adventure to be immediately followed by a Lite Adventure. \n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Mostly flat\, Some street-side walking \nYou need: Proper footwear.  Water and a snack. Signed Release Form. \nYour Dog needs: Properly fitting harness\, water and snacks. SUMMARY:Standard Adventure: Ridge Hill Reserve
DESCRIPTION:This session:\nRidge Hill\nRidge Hill will live in OHAC lore for all time as our second ever hike brought quite the\nadventure! One of the neighborhood cattle made one of their all to frequent trips out of\nhis paddock and down to the Ridge Hill parking lot just as we were shoving off! As we\nsaid then\, sometimes you seek adventure and sometimes adventure finds you!\nRidge Hill also happens to be one of Tinkle’s favorite DNRT trails\, but don’t advertise\nthat too much or else everyone will start going there! Let’s save this gem for the\nAdventure Club! Path’s here are well cared for by volunteers and offer a little challenge\nfor everyone. There are some steeper inclines and some rocks and roots that make for\nsome tricky footing (especially closer to the reservoir). Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking\non our standard adventure! \n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Some rocky\, hilly terrain. Parts are rooted and slick. \nYou need: Proper footwear. SUMMARY:Winter Solstice Adventure!
DESCRIPTION:This session:\nSimmons Pond \nLast year\, Adventure Club “discovered” the magical Christmas tree forest at Simmons Pond\, and with the Winter Solstice on Saturday\, what better way to celebrate nature–and each other!  Join us for some true holiday spirit\, and see what happens when Mother Earth takes over. It is truly breathtaking! \nSo join us for at Simmons Pond which is certainly one of Trail Guide Kayla’s (aka K-Boose\, aka Sacagawea) favorite Adventures. We suppose any tenderly cared for oasis that boasts tree cookies\, 30 hidden birdhouses\, trail magic\, history lessons\, and a sense of deep pride in a community’s land trust is worthy of K-Boose’s “favorite” designation! Path’s here are wide and welcoming with minimal inclines. Parts of the trail can get not only muddy\, but completely flooded–although this tends to be a Springtime occurrence. Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure! \n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Mostly flat. Some precarious footing in spots. \nYou need: Proper footwear.  Water and a snack. Signed Release Form. \nYour Dog needs: Properly fitting harness\, water and snacks. SUMMARY:Standard Adventure: Waterworks--Island Time
DESCRIPTION:This session: \nWaterworks \nFor months Adventure Guide Tim had heard about a great place to run\, called Waterworks–and for months\, Tinkle checked Google Maps looking for it! This time out\, we will begin at Long Point Road\, nearly to the land bridge between Great Quittacas Pond and Pocksha Pond. This is a predominantly forest trail with some mild inclines and great views of Great Quittacas Pond. Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure! \n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Some steeper inclines\, Tall grassy areas \nYou need: Proper footwear.  Water and a snack. SUMMARY:Standard Adventure: Lincoln Woods
DESCRIPTION:This session:\nLincoln Woods \nFor OHAC regulars\, you know we frequent Swansea Village Park.  Part of the attraction is the epic rock outcroppings and boulders.  Lincoln Woods is like Swansea Village Park’s older brother!  Bigger\, more wild and many more boulders!  There is a pleasant paved loop around a lake\, but in true Adventure Club fashion\, we seek out the trails frequented by mountain bikers and others with a more daring spirit!  While we typically expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our Standard Adventure\, don’t be too disappointed if it’s closer to three! SUMMARY:Special Women's Adventure: Simmons Pond
DESCRIPTION:This session:\nSimmons Pond \nThis weekend we are trying an Adventure Club first!  K-Boose will become  the K-Ductor and lead her very own Women’s Only Adventure–and what better place to do it then Simmon’s Pond?!  We always espouse that Adventure Club is for everyone–and indeed it is–however this is a really great opportunity for our Sister Adventurers to bond on a beautiful\, K-Boose paced stroll in Tinkle’s absence. \nSo join Adventure Club at a tenderly cared for oasis that boasts tree cookies\, 30 hidden birdhouses\, trail magic\, history lessons\, and a sense of deep pride in a community’s land trust! Path’s here are wide and welcoming with minimal inclines. Parts of the trail can get not only muddy\, but completely flooded–although this tends to be a Springtime occurrence. SUMMARY:Standard Adventure: Ridge Hill
DESCRIPTION:This session:\nRidge Hill \nRidge Hill will live in OHAC lore for all time as our second ever hike brought quite the adventure! One of the neighborhood cattle made one of their all to frequent trips out of his paddock and down to the Ridge Hill parking lot just as we were shoving off! As we said then\, sometimes you seek adventure and sometimes adventure finds you!\nRidge Hill also happens to be one of Tinkle’s favorite DNRT trails\, but don’t advertise that too much or else everyone will start going there! Let’s save this gem for the Adventure Club! Path’s here are well cared for by volunteers and offer a little challenge for everyone. There are some steeper inclines and some rocks and roots that make for some tricky footing (especially closer to the reservoir). Expect about 4-5 miles of hiking on our standard adventure! \n**Adventures are held rain or shine.** \nTerrain: Some rocky\, hilly terrain.
